Is it an emergency?
If water is actively escaping, shut the supply off first and call rather than filling in a form. On most homes that is the main valve at the meter; on a water heater it is the cold inlet valve on top of the tank. We will talk you through it on the phone.

We will tell you on the phone what the visit involves and what it costs before we dispatch anyone. Nothing starts, and no meter starts, before you have the findings and a number in front of you.
Can I get a price over the phone?
For a straightforward like-for-like job, often yes, at least as a range. For anything hidden — a leak, a recurring stoppage, a system that has been added to over the years — a real number needs a real diagnosis. We would rather give you an accurate figure on site than an optimistic one on the phone.
